Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, a laureate of the Spinoza prize by the Dutch Scientific Organization for research in the field of European law and governance, a holder of an Honorary Doctorate in law by the University College in Dublin, an Honorary Bencher by the King's Inn, Dublin.
